She is currently focusing on the topic of the slam in her research. That's why she has also redesigned her portrait for this slam.
Jasmin is 27 years old. She studied German/History as a secondary school teacher until September 2022. Since September 2022, she has been a research assistant and doctoral candidate at Leibniz Universität Hannover (Department: German Seminar).
Her first science slam was last year in November, so she is only just starting out in this business.
So far, Jasmin has focussed on comma placement, which she is now focusing on in her teaching. Her students are sometimes more and sometimes less happy with the content of the seminars...
Her last seminar "The grey punctuation? Orthographic myths and their truth content" made for interesting and amusing sessions.
However, her dissertation is now interdisciplinary in nature. Following on from her studies (and this science slam), she is now combining linguistics and history. She is looking at how we can use linguistic means (modality) to analyse whether the information presented is true. She also finds out how confident TikTokers are about the statements they make.
